An idea for discussion by one of the panels. I have posted this on C4P with favorable response. We need a Conservative sponsored debate asking questions of importance to Conservatives. Here’s what I suggested as my preferred option.

    EIB Debate

    Rush as MC and questioner
Mark Levin – Constitution based questions
Sarah Palin – Crony Capitalism based questions
John Bolton – Foreign Policy based questions

All questions are submitted to Rush. He holds phone interviews with all willing candidates and asks questions and records answers

Questions in voices of Rush, Mark, Sarah, or John are played and candidates response given.

Held over the full 3 hours of Rush’s program.

Follow up discussion by Rush, Mark, Sarah, and John either on Levin’s program or the next day on Rush’s program.

Could also have our own discussion program on Internet radio.

Doesn’t have to be the people I mentioned, but that would be highest visibility. Maybe Levin will do it if Rush won’t. Maybe Tammy will. Maybe it good be on Breitbart TV.

I’m sure the panel can figure out how to make it happen.

Nicole, on the Deane show you mentioned the goal of clearly articulating a list of Sarah’s core political convictions so that Palinistas and other interested parties could carry forward her standard in a variety of contexts and political situations.

Is that one of the outcomes we hope for from the first Grizzly Fest?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1537873048 Nicole Olmstead Coulter

Yes, we’re drafting a document, and we hope to gather input for that. Thanks for asking!

Here’s a few thoughts on a possible way forward for the Palinista movement  in the future which Grizzly Fest participants might want to consider.
What follows is an argument for  organizing around advocacy of a set of principles which we all want to see adopted in society which are essential to a lasting restoration and renewal of America but which are not dependent on or centered on  individuals, personalities or candidates.   This appears to be consistent with Sarah Palin’s own thinking about the way forward from here.
A disturbing trend noted on the C4P site as well as Sarah Palin’s FB page is the scramble for an endorsement of one of the GOP candidates.   It is splintering the Palinista movement.  It is setting Palinista against Palinista.  It is the result of placing hope in an individual rather than principles.  There should be no Palinista endorsement of a Presidential candidate other than Sarah Palin.  That path is fraught with risk to the unity of the Palinista movement going forward.
Sarah Palin herself has stated that she is going to wait and see what “floats to the top” of the Republican primary process.  That is a wise strategy.  Rather than endorse a Presidential candidate, Palinistas should insist that all candidates embrace the principles of restoration and renewal.  The movement should develop and advance those principles no matter who succeeds to the White House in 2012 and it should hold that person’s feet to the fire during the entire term.
Down ticket endorsement, support and encouragement is another matter.   Those who embrace the Palinista principles should be endorsed at a local level in a way that does not splinter the movement on a national level.
Sarah Palin presented what amounts to the “The Palin Doctrine” for the restoration and renewal of America in a cornfield in Indianola, Iowa on Labor Day weekend Sept. 3, 2011.
The Palin Doctrine presented to the country that day is nothing short of the most comprehensive, multi-layered  and ambitious proposal to address the problems America faces which has yet been put forward by any candidate for President in the 2012, including the incumbent.
The first step toward putting America back on track is an accurate reading of the real nature of the problems directly in front of us.  Sarah Palin defined those problems and put them in sobering context.    She constructed a bold battle plan for the country to meet them head on and pointed the way to a comprehensive,  practical , achievable  set of solutions to those problems .
Over the course of the past year or so Sarah Palin succeeded in shaping  the 2012 political battlefield  and  chose the ground the GOP field  has been fighting on  and which  Barack Hussein Obama  will have to fight  on in the general election.
Sarah Palin has led and continues to lead where the other candidates must follow.   Why?  Because the American public has responded to her in various ways to one degree or another even if it is opposition to what she stands for.  That includes her:    A) strategic long term vision; B)  accurate and cogent recognition of the nature of the problems  immediately confronting us in the short term ; and C) the pragmatic and necessary tactics Palin  has proposed for steering the nation through B to get to A during  what she has termed “those heady days ahead.”
The Palin Doctrine is the first and only comprehensive plan for fully restoring the nation that has been placed on the table in 2012.  That Doctrine is  planted on the high ground of “Constitutional Conservatism” and the need for national renewal and restoration.   All of the seekers of national office  will have to  fight  it out on that ground  now in relation to the “Palin Doctrine”.  They will have to push her and the people attracted to her cause and her message off that high ground.  That is going to be a tall, tall order.
The Palin Doctrine identifies  and addresses at least four broad problem areas and calls for “a sense of urgency” in  simultaneously tackling each part of the complex set of problems which lie right in front of America–some chronic  and some temporary— which fall  under these broad categories:
SPIRITUAL RENEWAL— POLITICAL PROCESS REFORM—ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION—CITIZENSHIP
Unlike any of the candidates, Sarah Palin has linked simultaneous progress in these four areas –not simply the economic or fiscal problems—as the key to constructing the basis for a permanent  renewal  of American society.   These should not be construed in any order of priority.  Progress in all of these problem areas identified in Palin’s Sept.3 speech is required to get to the desired result.  Here in short form is what the Palin Doctrine would address:
SPIRITUAL RENEWAL:  America needs to acknowledge that God has shed his grace on America.  Our freedom, our liberty, our Revolution of 1776, our Constitution, our prosperity, our well being, our way of life, our American exceptionalism  is the result of  and derives from  and depends on the continuing presence of  that grace and Divine Providence in our public affairs.  How does God work his grace in the world?  God works through people whether they are aware that He is working  through them or not.  If we assent to this dependence on grace God will work through each and every one of us to bring about His will for America.  Sarah Palin has made that personal commitment.  We need, as a Nation, to both pray for the continued shedding of that grace and to once again comport ourselves in a way that is consistent with this reality.  On Sept. 3 Sarah Palin mentioned that we must reach for God’s hand and let Him guide us along the path of national renewal.  This insistence and reliance upon  Divine Providence to inform  and guide our actions  promises to be one of the most controversial but necessary aspects of  the Palin  Doctrine.  In truth this is the foundation and bedrock of that Doctrine.
POLITICAL PROCESS REFORM:   The political process in Washington—and increasingly at the State and local levels—is corrupted and in need of cleansing.  “I am not for sale.”  This lays down the gauntlet for the rest of the field in Campaign 2012, especially and most particularly Barack Obama.  “Pay for Play” business as usual must come to an end.  Rewarding political contributors with bailouts, subsidies, contracts, and unfettered access to the federal Treasury is an evil that bedevils the nation and stands in the way of our renewal.
Sarah Palin is challenging the entire entrenched Establishment –what she calls “the permanent political class”—that has inflicted this evil on the country over a long period of time.  The “Corrupt Bastards Club of America” is a logarithmically larger version of the “Corrupt Bastards Club of Alaska” that she successfully took on and defeated in her home state.   This will not be an easy job.
That loci of corruption she is challenging on behalf of Middle America includes Democrats, Republicans, the lame stream media, thousands upon thousands of beltway lobbyists, the military industrial complex, the nanny state complex,  Wall St., foreign interests, and what she correctly identifies as “crony capitalism”.
Sarah Palin is taking them all on.  All of it.  She is Undefeated.  “I am not for sale.”  She is saying she is not for sale and America can no longer be bought and sold to the highest bidder.   The Presidency must no longer be a $1 billion “investment” for “crony capitalists” expecting a tenfold or hundred fold, or thousand fold return on that investment through the U.S. Treasury and the tax payers’ pockets.
ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION:   For all its pain and misery our national economic problem is –of all the problems the Palin  Doctrine addresses — perhaps the most easily resolved.  Our economic problems—low growth/high unemployment/unsustainable trillion dollar fiscal deficits/ perilously high federal debt/inept monetary policy/ money printing/”Too Big to Fail” financial fragility—are in reality temporary in nature constituting correctible symptoms of misguided and counterproductive Progressive Socialist economic policy.  Change the policy and these problems resolve in a relatively short order and pass into the dustbin of painful and wholly unnecessary economic history.
Essential elements of the Palin Doctrine for Economic Revitalization:
Repeal Obamacare/ Energy Self-Sufficiency/ Zero Out Corporate Income Taxes/Entitlement Reform/Diminish the Government Footprint on the economy/Regulatory Relief/Empowerment of individual initiative/Encouragement of capital formation/ Keep what you earn/Free markets determining wages, prices and the allocation of scarce resources.
What is clear is that implementation of the Palin Doctrine’s economic policies would ignite a fast, ferocious, V shaped economic rebound.  Within 6 months the U.S. economy would be growing at an 8-10% growth rate.  Unemployment would be rapidly decreasing.  Financial markets would be booming.   The housing market would finally bottom out and beginning to improve.  Tax receipts would begin flowing in to the Treasury.   A rising tide would lift all boats and sooner than most people would expect.
The Palin Doctrine represents rocket fuel for the U.S. economy.  It remains for America to put the right leaders in place to light it off.
CITIZENSHIP:  The Palin Doctrine requires a renewal of citizen participation in public affairs.  It recognizes that one person even as gifted as Sarah Palin cannot do it alone.  She challenged Americans to “Get off the couch!  Come down out of that deer blind!  Be prepared to sacrifice some of those leisure hours watching football!”   Aristotle said that “What is everybody’s business is nobody’s business—a matter common to most men receives least attention.”  We must take more individual responsibility for our government and our civic life.  This is a hard, sacrificial reality that Sarah Palin is going to hammer home to Americans over the course of this campaign and beyond.  We will have to give of our time and resources to secure our liberty and that of our grandchildren.  There is no way around it.  All of these core entrenched systemic problems and temporary economic problems cannot be corrected without this essential element of the Palin Doctrine.  Time to get off the couch if we wish to survive as the America we have taken for granted.   Time to teach our children what Citizenship means and what it requires of each of us.  We must take up the task of inculcating Citizenship  with a capital “C” into our children in the same way we inculcate sports into their lives.  Citizenship is more important to them then sports.
What is not included in this short description of The Palin Doctrine for the Restoration and Renewal of America is a definitive or distinct position on Foreign Affairs or Defense issues.  Perhaps Sarah Palin will expand upon these areas in the future.  What is clear in the Foreign Affairs area is that she believes that there should be no daylight between Israel and the United States.  Just guessing but a Palin Foreign Affairs doctrine might look a lot like George Washington’s.  Don’t go looking for foreign dragons to slay.  Stick by the treaties and alliances you make, if you must make them.
Combined, the Palin Doctrine is a bold, comprehensive  but simple and easy to understand plan for renewal and restoration of America.  It has and will continue to  attract Americans by the millions.
Above all, implementation of the Palin Doctrine will set us on the path of a new era of freedom, expanded opportunity, wealth creation, prosperity and national well being for ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren.
So how is all this to come about without Sarah Palin in the White House?  Recall how many of us raised the battle cry: “I am Sarah Palin!”   That has to become a reality.  We all have to be Sarah Palin in whatever way we can.
The Palin movement needs to rally behind a set of universal principles that we can all support and defend with vigor and conviction.  Individuals — their strengths and weaknesses–fade into the background in light of strong principles.  It is the message not the messenger—not even one as compelling as Sarah Palin– that counts.   We must all be messengers to the extent we can be.  The truth and the principles will attract growing legions of adherents like moths to a flame.  Americans are hungry and increasingly desperate for enduring principles that will sustain us.
The job in front of C4P, the various Palin groups and individual Palinistas is to raise a platform and a vigorous growing network of support to develop, articulate and advance a consistent message based on principle until those principles are recognized and embraced by the public at large and the political class as essential and unavoidable if America is to be restored and renewed.   It is a challenge worth embracing and a fight worth making.  It may be a long march.  It starts by putting one foot in front of the other.

    • http://www.facebook.com/viambuss Maria Buss

Well said. However, you and I know that most people left to their own devices will take the easy way forward – do nothing.  I’m sure that you, like me and many others have led others towards their objectives and made a difference in people’s lives. Our reach is limited and so are the people willing to lead.   In the context of the enormous challenges before us, this country needs the proven leadership of Gov. Palin. We need someone at the helm steering the wheel. Not until we have her, it will be more of the same.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_N7HCPR7JLQP6R33GXP5DO5XKDM 1776er

The easy way forward-do nothing is a product of our Education system.  We have failed to teach our kids the essential requirements of Citizenship.  Our Constitutional Republic requires active participation not “I don’t want to be involved!”  The mess we are in is in great measure a reflection of our woeful failure to instill that responsibility into the last two or three generations including my own.   That failure may cost us our Republic and our Constitution.

One of the curious aspects of Sarah Palin’s decision not to run is that God somehow put a block in or allowed a block of Sarah Palin’s way.  Why?  She seems to be the perfect charismatic star calibre personality to rally behind.  Pehaps that’s the key to the whole problem.  Perhaps this is God’s way of letting us know that in order for our Republic and the Constitution to “long endure” it must be “for the people, of the people and most importantly BY THE PEOPLE”.

Perhaps God is telling us the charismatic leader model is inadequate to the problems we face in the social media era.  Our charismatic leaders are too easily de-mystified and torn apart.  Sarah Palin’s experience is classic. Perhaps God is telling us that only principles subscribed to by the mass of the general public and insisted upon by active involved ordinary citizenry lead to government BY THE PEOPLE and and is the only thing that will sustain the Republic and Constitution in the long run.

Here is one of my favorite quotes:

“There are no great men. Just great challenges which ordinary men,out of necessity, are forced by circumstance to meet.”
                                               Admiral William F. (Bull) Halsey

Frankly, I don’t know how to cure this problem.  I would like to hear Grizzly Fest address it.  If we don’t find some way to cure the problem you identify then I think all the rest will be for naught.

        • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1537873048 Nicole Olmstead Coulter

I really like your comments, 1776er … I’m drafting a Restoration Principles post that I hope will spur this kind of discussion. We need to somehow take all the ideas and character traits we admire in Gov. Palin and articulate them as a set of principles we EXPECT public servants to follow. Great stuff!

        • http://www.facebook.com/viambuss Maria Buss

You are right on point.  The very nature of this problem as you call it is not curable nor can it be eliminated. That is where the challenge lies. However, there are many who recognize the underlying cause of the societal ills before us. That includes you, the governor, Nicole and everyone driven by the passion to change things for the better in accordance with the will of God. All of you who can powerfully articulate the message to the publics we serve. We do our best to do right by others and let God do the rest. In the same breath,  reality is in our face begging for action. What do we do? Ask for God’s grace to help us confront it. I would like to say that He did give us the ‘instrument’  – SP who is blessed with the ability to inspire and lead.  Is that really so?   We’ll soon find out.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Pete-Petretich/100002088167892 Pete Petretich

On the Earthquake issue, that option may include an Independent run by Sarah as a concerned American citizen.

She is certainly huge enough to not need a party, then she would be free to work with serious people from both or no party. It seems fitting to me that the first female President might be an Independent.

I’m not saying that this is my ideal outcome, but it is a real possibility and this does NOT involve a “Third Party” in any way so don’t start yakking about third parties which are simply irrelevant to what I wrote above.

  • http://www.facebook.com/viambuss Maria Buss

Without question the organizers have done a great job setting up this event. Thank you. It bothers me though that your message appears to completely discount the possibility of Gov. Palin’s reconsidering her decision to not run in 2012.  Say it isn’t so.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Pete-Petretich/100002088167892 Pete Petretich

I’ve seen more than a few posts on this site, and two videos,  that are favorable to the Draft and Reconsider schools.

The bottom line, I think, is to scope out ways forward for this highly dispersed community variously known as Palinistas.

      • http://www.facebook.com/viambuss Maria Buss

I can appreciate that Pete and see that the effort could serve to strengthen the Palinista community. If and when Gov. Palin does reconsider, a mobilized force is in place.  For the present time until April 15 (I keep coming back to this financial disclosure filing deadline), why can’t everyone stay put in the reconsider bandwagon (RBW) with one message to Gov. Palin – please reconsider. And she can do just that. If her position is unchanged after April 15th, all of us can jump in the ‘Let’s Move Forward the Sarah Palin Way’ bandwagon.

I don’t know about you but for me, I believe that the governor knows in her heart that this country is at great risk. She needs all of our prayers as she contemplates to answer The Call to Duty. I’m pretty sure that privately she is contemplating given what’s going on around her. It is evident that she is being called to serve.  There is time. Let’s give her that as we all sit in the RBW. We’ll support and cheer her on as she makes the rounds communicating her message and inspiring America.

It will be all clear for me after April 15th.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1537873048 Nicole Olmstead Coulter

Hi Maria … Thanks for your interest in Grizzly Fest. We are mainly focusing on things within our control right now. We know there are some pursuing the draft angle. We just want to work on keeping the momentum of this movement alive and focusing our efforts around shared values and purpose. Gov. Palin asked for us to help her fight to restore America. That’s what we plan to do, regardless of the exact role she pursues.

      • http://www.facebook.com/viambuss Maria Buss

Hi Nicole – Thanks for taking the time to respond. I know that you have your hands full with the summit. I appreciate what you’re doing. You can see my post below in answer to Pete. I’m with you in the fight to restore America  and share your passion to follow the governor’s lead. For now through April 15, I will be stitting it out in the RBW.  I wish you all the best and thank you for your leadership.

      • Anonymous

Hi Nicole, love the fight and to keep going, but we have to make some noise and get Sarah to at least reconsider. The present candidates are a mess, and there is still time.

So this is the new Grizzly Rising forum huh?? Not too shabby.

Hope you guys have set up a “Shut up Mark” button for Saturday. NYers always think they own the place…and should! Ask Jedidiah!

Still wondering whether there’ll be an open bar, but don’t worry about it…yet.

    Great job!

We were counting on you to buy the first round, Mark :) These summits always have open bars, don’t they? ha!

      • Anonymous

It’s dangerous to have an open bar on a summit. People can fall off (law suits, etc).

        1st round on me!

Hey! I’m excited about the lineup! I’m also glad that Madeleine is on the special guests line up. I could do it next year. :) Madeleine is the smartest 16-year-old I know, and someone please tell her that she needs to hit me up with a video chat. Once she gets her new webcam, of course. :)

    Seriously. Can’t. Wait.

Homework? What homework? (3 papers, 1 project, 2 readings, and so much more…)

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Pete-Petretich/100002088167892 Pete Petretich

My preference currently is for Sarah to run as an Independent (maybe with Trump as her running mate), skip the whole primary nonsense, then sweep in like lightning later in 2012. Let the bumblers bumble and fade, then the lady sweeps up the mess and lives in the White House…

I am surprised that Mark America’s blog is not listed with the Sarah Palin Friendly Blogs. Mark is a prolific blogger who thinks the sun rises and sets on Sarah Palin and has a wonderful writing style that compliments his comments. Take a look. Type in Mark America into the search window on Facebook and one can get the blog to read. Thanks for the consideration. Paul Revere Writes Again dot com

Can I echo that? Mark America, as well as Mrl Tavern’s You Tube site, have both been a well of Palin-Friendly argument and resource.

I agree.  Mark America wrote an article, Sarah Palin: Naturally Effective Leader, on August 13.  This started my grizzly moment for me.

Thank you guys for keeping the spirit alive and strong. God bless you all.

  • Jesse_lucy

Unless there is some compelling reason not to, I would like to see Sarah’s fingerprints on this project.

We worked long and hard to make her “stealth campaign” for President work, but I can’t see the need for her isolation from her army any more.

Direct involvement would make a huge difference to those who have “lost faith” in Sarah’s leadership ability.

There is nothing to whip up spirit like the general herself leading the charge…

  • Anonymous

You guys have done a wonderful job with this thing, but I would like to echo Jesse_lucy’s comments below.

It’s long past time for Sarah Palin to step forward and start showing real grassroots leadership. One of the reasons I am convinced that Palin is NOT in the race was her hesitation in showing such leadership over the summer. This allowed the Establishment to set a rather convincing “not running” narrative that became a self-fulfilling prophecy once the Romney people got their boy Marco Rubio to move Florida up a month.

There is no substitute for hands-on, direct grassroots leadership. I can handle Palin not running this cycle. Barely. She left us with a collection of circus mimes to compete with Obama. But someone has to be a grassroots general, and that someone is Sarah Palin.

Step it up, Governor! Grizzlyfest is as good an opportunity as any!

During the webinar, can the moderators spare a time for prayer to God asking Him to have Sarah lead us and run for presidency? Community prayer is powerful. Maybe have everyone type a prayer and post it. Thanks.

If Sarah were really to lead an Independent ticket against Obama then I think she would need to team up with one or a few individuals who could bankroll the logistics, i.e., getting all the signatures for the General Election ballot in maybe fifty states.

I doubt she could do it with simply grass roots money, unless the two major parties COMPLETELY screw up somehow.

I’ll be working during Grizzly Fest tomorrow, so here’s my main two bits to start out with:It seems like Sarah prefers to remain in the Republican party, but the political question becomes what role should she play in that party? I am thinking specifically about her two upcoming and very “official” sounding GOP speaking engagements (GOPink and GOP Florida). These clearly look like loyalty tests to me. She will not primarily be addressing the Tea Party or the Evangelical community in either instance.Personally, like Todd and Track, I am NOT a Republican but I am a lifer for Sarah Palin.

Thanks for the inspiration and encouragement that this summit is providing so far. I’m confident that people will come away energized. However, we are looking for leadership and the Governor is silent on all fronts. For those of us in the reconsider bandwagon, we cannot possibly entertain thoughts much less talk about vetting this or that candidate. We don’t hear the Governor providing direction one way or the other. Could you be moving too many steps ahead of her?

If it is clear to all of us that none of the candidates is up to the task to lead this country, she must recognize and know it too. At this time, the Governor is watching the candidates and us. After her October 5th announcement, she continues to say that there is time for others to jump in and get out of the race. It will be an unconventional process as she puts it. The restoration campaign can move forward spreading the principles and values that are totally Sarah Palin. However, is it too much to ask that for the next few months, we stand together with one voice and with one message:  Governor, please reconsider and answer the call to duty. To echo one Palin supporter, Gov.Palin should not only reconsider, she must run. This country is at great risk and her leadership is what we need.

I hear you .. we’re all here, we have her back, we’re not going away and so on. But what is our message to her? Could you be saying- Governor, we’re moving on without you but we’ll keep your spirit, accomplishments and passion alive.

I appreciate all your efforts to organize this online summit. But I have to be honest- I’m logging out feeling empty.

I, too, feel a bit empty. I would think that Sarah knows more than we do about the cast of characters who are in the forefront of the conservative, tea party movement. I am watching Herman Cain right now. I will jump in if Sarah decides to run, but will keep watching Mr. Cain. I wish he would speak more about being a constitutionalists, but other than that, I think he might be able to carry the torch. But, Sarah, your country needs you. Hear its cry…..

Well, that was a very interesting experience.   Pulling it  together was obviously a technical challenge.  It was a challenge for me to log on at the beginning but somebody scrambled to get us all hooked up.  Thanks.

What came through loud and clear to me is that there is a core of very intelligent, creative, energetic and UNDEFEATED people who are committed to expanding and broadening this Restoration movement in this election cycle and beyond.  It is clear that a whole lot of smart and articulate people understand what is at stake.

It’s reasurring to know that something very powerful, healing and good is bubbling and forming and coming together in America.

It may not look like it to most of the country but this is the movement and these are the people who are going to end the Establisment “permanent politcal class” and the crony capitialist  symbiosis which is leading the country to disaster.

    Good work everybody involved.
